It
is said that you cannot understand the feelings of a Parent until you become
one and being a mother makes you a thousand times more sensitive than you ever
were. A mother can feel the pain of another mother, a mother can feel the pain
of another mother’s child’s miseries. In the scenario of the recent Child Abuse
incident, I have been suffering a lot that I was even unable to hold a pen and
write. But being a writer it makes me feel embarrassed to ignore the issues
that have gone too out of hand in the society. What kind of society we are
living? What kind of society we are making? Where we are heading to? Humanity
is ashamed of us, who do not care for others around us. There were times when
people were daring enough to speak whenever they saw something bad happening,
people stopped it even by force, people got involved in the matters, which were
intolerable in society. But in this new age, so-called ‘PRIVACY’ matters
changed everything. Walls became higher, hearts became narrower, human
interactions became lesser, and souls became shallower. Nobody knows or cares
what’s even happening in their neighborhood.
We
were the people, who were declared to perform ‘Amar bilmaruf-wa nahi anil
munkar’ to call a spade a spade, to stop
the evil by hand, not by hand then by speaking. If can’t, then by heart. But
it’s a strange time we are moving in, where nobody cares for anything anymore.
We have no time to stop the evil going around until it engulfs us all together.
We need to wake up from this deep slumber of ignorance and negligence that
enslaves us from speaking truth, from fighting the negativity that bound us
from performing justice. Why we let such kind of evil characters to snatch our
children, to eat them up like beasts, why not we should become a live shield,
strong as a rock that protects our generations from every evil that comes their
way. Why we cannot create an environment of mutual growth and evolution in
society by spreading awareness, practicing Islamic values and practices that take
away all foreign propaganda, conspiracies, and negativity. We need to educate
our people in society against such immoral crimes, teach our children about
their basic rights, their protection and how they can fight such kind of
trapping murderers.
