7 Obstacles That Limit Critical Thinking

When we have various sources of extracting information, it is hard to find out the genuine truth. This makes a lot of concerns in our everyday daily matters. Critical thinking or basic reasoning help us in making an intellectual choice and informed decision-making. This won't make strides on shallow or unclear information and will ultimately lead to a smooth decision-making process. Following are the obstacles that limit us to start thinking critically

1-Absence of Basic Information: Most of us are unaware of background information and ground realities of facts and figures. And we do not try to explore the basic findings to enhance our knowledge.

2-Poor Research Skills: It is a major issue that the majority of the researchers lack in effective research techniques including content analysis, SWOT analysis etc. While the majority of the people show an unwillingness to seek new research techniques. They focus only those aspects that they desire to look into.

3-Biasness: It is another obstruction in basic reasoning or critical thinking that one cannot acknowledge the reality and show biasness while analyzing the information.

4-Egocentric: : Another common issue is being egocentric which is the inability to untangle subjective schemas from objective reality and an inability to understand or assume any perspective other than one's own It results in hesitation in acceptance of reality .

5-Narrow-mindedness: Most of the time we are ignorant of the developments and unable to foresee the dynamic effects of various issues.

6-Unreal Assumption: Sometimes we form the wrong perception about any matter that hinders us in further reasoning and exploring truths and facts about any entity.

7-Selective Research Topics:We use to give attention to selective issues which limit our barriers to research due to data constraints, technical issues etc.
