Labour Day is a public holiday in Pakistan which is annually held on 1st May and it’s also known as May Day. Labourers and workers are the real heroes of every Nation. Labour Day are observed in most of the countries including Pakistan to recognize workers accomplishment and encourage social rights. Labour Day is patent by marches, rallies and employees. So labourers marches across Pakistan arrange seminars and rallies in which rallies leaders delivers speeches stress the importance of the Labour Day and the rights of the Labourers. The entire day pass by voices of the people and showing their slogans. Reported by timeanddate.com that Pakistan first Labour Policy was devised in 1972, in which May 1 was declared an official holiday. This policy was then formulated the creation of the Social Security Network, Old Age Benefit Schemes and Workers Welfare Fund. And it also reported by The Nation that Pakistan also became a member of the (ILO) right after its independence in 1947.The problem of Laborers can’t be resolved only by celebrating this day unless if measures are taken for their basic human rights, wellbeing and schooling conveniences. As we know there are millions of people who work in fields and workshops but they are not registered with any institution. And at last the rich enjoy the benefit of their labour. Most people also spend this holiday in games, sleep and other enjoyment but forgetting the rights of the Labourers and most importantly the Child labourers whose foremost need is education. So as a honest citizen of our country we must speak for Labours rights as to have a prosperous nation because we can only have a better nation only by the hard work of our Labours. As the quote of the greatest people say “Come forward as servants of Islam, organize the people economically, socially, educationally and politically and I am sure that you will be a power that will be accepted by everybody”
“Labour is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration” by Abraham Lincoln”.
