When
you pick up your pen, there are few legends who inspire you more to think,
create and write and, Iqbal is one of them.
We as a nation, unfortunately, failed the expectations of Iqbal, the
philosophy, the ideology and the mirage he dreamt for us. His ideology for the youth of Pakistan, whom he titled as Shaheen,
the Eagle. If only we had delivered the true message of Iqbal in our
educational institutions, our condition as a nation would have been much
better.
We
were the people who were blessed with a soul, that was so ancient as well as an
advance that he covered centuries in
himself. He portrayed in his poetry the mysteries hidden in pages of times,
long ago and ages to come. Iqbal wasn't a man of one day, he was the man of an
Era. The world is familiar with Rumi as they find him modern and secular, most
of them entirely leave Rumi's spiritual and religious side, aside. We failed
Iqbal in spreading his message to the whole world. It was Iqbal's right that
his words should have been spread in the world
as a universal study. The secrets and mysteries that his words hold should have
delivered to the lands that crave for wisdom.
There's
an alley in Germany is named after Iqbal, there are universities that offer a Doctorate
in Iqbaliat and if other
countries can offer such respect to Iqbal, why should not we? Indians portrayed
Gandhi as a spiritual leader in the world. His quotes are known in the entire world. This is not a comparison but we
know that Iqbal is beyond all these measures and limits. His words are the
elaboration of the Holy Quran which is
the book of every Era. The need of the hour is
to invest our time and energies toward studies of Iqbal and decode the
mysteries present in them and convert them into precise & effective
literature to make them attractive for the younger
generation so that they take an interest & read Iqbal with more zeal.
