Renewal of the Foreign Policy of Pakistan








24th Aug 2018 was an imperative day in the historical backdrop of Pakistan as recently elected Prime Minister, Imran Khan visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where Foreign Minister, Mr.Shah Mehmood Qureshi got him along with senior authorities of MOFA. Imran Khan observed the briefing about the current challenges and opportunities to the foreign policy of Pakistan. The PM was briefed about Kashmir issue and the ties with the neighboring nations uncommonly Iran, India, Afghanistan China, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
The PM said that Pakistan will try to avert any kind of conflict with any of the nation. However, there will be no trade-off on national interest. We will decidedly welcome any peace-building venture from India. The Prime Minister, additionally guided about the outside missions to assume an efficient working for building a positive image of Pakistan.
After that Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed a press conference with quite bold gestures. Some of the key points of his press conference are
·         Pakistan will no more remain the ‘darling of the west’
·         Peace and the stability in the region are vital for us.
·         Pakistan will be represented effectively on international forums and will try to make Pakistan away from the blacklist.
·         The Foreign Minister declares phone call of U.S Secretary of state ‘contrary to facts’
·         The Chinese Foreign Minister will visit Pakistan on the 8th and 9th of September.
·         Visit of US Secretary of the State is also expected in the next month.

In short, this activity was a positive initiative in the stale waters of our foreign policy. The vision of the Foreign Office about the foreign policy of Pakistan is the foremost requisite of Pakistan for building peace and economic development of the country. Hopefully, PTI Govt will create better ties with the regional stakeholders that are the dire need to make CPEC a real game changer for both the countries i.e., China and Pakistan.
