Alwandi Leadership Encampment - 3

There was a time when we use to listened bed time stories from our grandparents. Their sweet voice and elegant expression, swish and flick and here we go. Our amateur minds, mesmerized by fairytales, open up a gateway, into the wonderland. Although we have grown up, but still life is full of adventures. Thus on 29 April 2016, students from all over Pakistan gathered under the supervision of Abid Iqbal (President Positive Pakistan) at Islamabad.
Valor, passion, courage and dazzling curiosity on their faces clearly depicts that they are ready, to set out on an adventure to discover a wonderland that reside in highland of Nathiagali in District Abbottabad.
First of all there was an introductory session, moving on words of wisdom were shared: "Hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allah (i.e. this Qur'an), and be not divided among yourselves" Al Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse: 103.
Point to ponder: Positive Pakistan is educating young blood in the era of deception. In today’s world, division is being created on the ground of sect and region, with the help of media, 4th generation warfare is enforced on us. Every breath one take is in a battleground and every step one take is in a warzone. Therefore, Positive Pakistan has decided to hold an encampment i.e. nourished with philosophy of Iqbal and enriched with principles of Quaid.

On the dawn of 30 April 2016 we set out for camp site i.e. Mushkpuri from Islamabad via Dunga Gali. It is approximately 2,800 meters above sea level. Finally after reaching, we started tracking, because the real triumph lay at hill top. It was a perilous task, the track was 4Km long. But as it is said: Adventure is not outside man: it’s within. Hence we challenged ourselves at every single step.
As we moved forward on trek, we can clearly see sky-punching mountains soar up in the background. The sky above was a feast for the eyes. It stretched as far as the eye could see in a dome of cocktail-blue, punched with fluffy clouds. It wasn’t just the sights that pleased the senses. The whole experience of trekking was heart thumping.

The journey was exhausting and 3 hours long, thus some among us collapsed into their tents. The mat seems so soothing that everyone drifted into a deep sleep. When they woke up, everyone was called in at learning area. At first introductory session was held, moving on rules and regulations of encampment were explained.
Furthermore Usman Raza (Vice President Positive Pakistan) introduces Positive Pakistan to all participants. Afterwards Abid Iqbal torched passion among young blood in a rhetorical manner. His words serve as energy boosters and every individual transformed into eager beaver. Thereafter he stressed upon message of Iqbal and asked participants to adopt inquisitive thinking as it is need of hour.
Moving on as the day passed various physical activities were performed, all of them has some intrinsic meaning attached to them. Moreover we also offered prayer in congregation. At night under the glittering sky a camp fire was lit. If one had stayed there at night, he would have experienced the cold bite of the wind, freezing whiskey noses and apple-frosted cheeks. Thereafter we had luscious BBQ and a heated debate.

At dawn the dewy air served mint-fresh to the lungs. We offered prayer in congregation, followed by Tilawat e Quran & Naat e Rasool e Maqbool. Thereafter Mudassir (Ambassador Positive Pakistan) stressed upon the significance of Alwandi encampment. Adding on Umair (National Secretary Positive Pakistan) gathered feedback from participants. Afterwards second round of physical activities were heldunder supervision of Usman Raza. Finally Abid Iqbal distributed certificates among participants.
Personal remarks: I swore I would return next year, a piece of lost heaven it is.
